Fire Tips
Enjoy a clear view and cosy warmth: find out how the clever window rinsing system minimises deposits and provides a clear view during operation.
In addition to cosy warmth, the sight of the flickering fire in the stove is a real treat. A large and above all unobstructed view of the flames through the fireplace glass is therefore desirable. Soot and ash deposits naturally build up on the glass inside the firebox as a result of the fire. However, a clever system in the stove ensures a clear view during operation: window rinsing.
What is a window rinsing system in a wood-burning stove?
During operation, outside air is fed into the lower part of the stove and heated. A sophisticated flow system in the stove guides the heated air along the inside of the pane. This hot air flow burns off the deposits on the pane and "washes" them away. An air curtain covers the pane and protects it from the exhaust gases, which prevents further soot deposits. A temperature of around 500 degrees should be reached in the combustion chamber so that the soot particles burn off completely. In addition to the temperature, the correct operation of the stove, suitable firewood and the flue gas system also have an influence on the proper functioning of the window rinsing. You will find information on this in the user manual for your stove.
Clean stove windows are one of the quality features of premium stoves from Attika Feuerkultur. All Attika stoves are equipped with window rinsing and give you a clear view while enjoying the fire.
If the ceramic glass of your stove or fireplace insert still needs cleaning, use a commercially available cleaning agent or a special ceramic glass cleaner. Spray the cleaner onto a cloth and not directly onto the glass to prevent the cleaner from damaging the door seal. A good tip and an environmentally friendly option is to clean the windscreen with ash: dip a moistened ball of newspaper into the cold ash and use it to clean the windscreen. Wipe with clean household paper.
If you would like to experience window rinsing in action with an Attika stove or Attika fireplace insert, an Attika dealer in your region will be happy to advise you.
